"A Street Through the Soul of Boise: The History of 8th Street" is, in many ways, the history of Boise. From one of the town's oldest commercial districts, to one of its oldest and most storied neighborhoods, to The Grove and 8th Street Marketplace, to the modern live-work-play design of BoDo, the street has reflected Boise's image of itself. This talk uses video and photographs of the street, its history and the Boise characters who have called it home--and ends in an optional 8 block walk through the heart of Downtown. Presented by Greg Hahn.

Boise has a historic reputation as a placid, conservative city. To some extent, this is true, but the countercultural currents that roiled the twentieth century occurred here, too. From underground gay communities to anti-war protests to aggressive punk scenes, Boise has been home to rebellion and dissent. Far from being lost or forgotten, these communities still inform Boise’s progressive art and music cultures, and are the basis for the city’s current maturation as a vital artistic scene.

Roll dice to save lives!!
Each ticket is $25, which is tax-deductible. ($30 at the door.) With a ticket, you get a fun night of bunco, a chance to win amazing prizes, delicious desserts and wine, and you help a great cause!! (If you have never played before, don't worry. It's super easy... seriously, just roll the dice.)
My in-laws' foundation, The Friends of Ruwenzori, is an organization in rural Uganda that focuses on empowering the people of this community. They provide school fees for orphans, organize a trade school to teach skills, manage a micro-finance department to provide loans for businesses to prosper, teach AIDS education through dance and song, and facilitate a functioning hospital. Our funds help all of these great programs to continue... especially the new hospital. Because of the hospital, babies are being born healthy and moms are surviving labor. (Just two years ago, births happened in their mud huts exclusively! This year, there have been over 150 healthy deliveries.)

Ultimate Urban Challenge is a fundraising event for the Make-A-Wish Idaho. Funds will be used to grant Idaho wishes to children battling life-threatening medical conditions. The Idaho Chapter serves over 90 children each year and is celebrating its 27th year of magical wishes!
This event is an exhilarating adventure designed for teams of four who want to have a great time while helping make wishes come true.. This competition challenges the body, mind, and senses in the urban setting of Boise. Using clues, teams of four will bike to secret destinations to complete assigned challenges.
This is the 4th year for Ultimate Urban Challenge and we are happy to tell you that we have a bunch of new and exciting challenges! We are also excited to announce that early registration has been lowered from $65 to $49~ yes, that's right, just $49 dollars! If you are unfamiliar with the Ultimate Urban Challenge, it's like those crazy races you see on TV, but local! Your team of four will bike through downtown Boise and its surrounding areas, focusing on local attractions and landmarks all the while completing challenges and having fun! You will have a great time with your friends while simultaneously granting wishes for Idaho children!
There will be an awesome after party at Julia Davis Park complete with food, beer, entertainment and the prize ceremony! There will be many prizes from our generous sponsors Axiom Fitness, BodyBuilding.com and Bob's Bicycles. The person who raises the most funds for Idaho's wish children will go home with a brand spankin' new kayak, complete with paddles and vests!
The course will begin at the Caven-Williams Sports Complex at Boise State University but that's all we can tell you because the rest is SECRET!

A critical smash on Broadway and in London, the two-time Tony Award winning hit musical AMERICAN IDIOT tells the story of three lifelong friends, forced to choose between their dreams and the safety of suburbia. Based on Green Day’s Grammy hits “Boulevard of Broken Dreams,” “21 Guns,” “Wake Me Up When September Ends,” “Holiday” and the blockbuster title track, AMERICAN IDIOT boldly takes the American musical where it’s never gone before. Charles Isherwood of The New York Times declares “thrilling, emotionally charged, and as moving as any Broadway musical I’ve seen this year!”
AMERICAN IDIOT contains adult content and strong language.

Back by “Popular” demand. Variety calls WICKED “a cultural phenomenon,”
and when it last played Boise in 2011, it broke box office records and sold out in record time. Winner of 35 major awards, including a Grammy and three Tony
Awards, WICKED is “Broadway’s biggest blockbuster” (The New York Times). Long before that girl from Kansas arrives in Munchkinland, two girls meet in the land of Oz. One – born with emerald green skin – is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. How these two grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good makes for “the most complete – and completely satisfying – new musical in a long time” (USA Today).
Wicked is recommended for children ages eight and older. Children under 4 will not be admitted. Everyone through the door, regardless of age, requires a ticket. All seats are reserved. Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of Management.
